Welcome McKenna to the “Weird Girls” Family

McKenna portrait

Hello all! McKenna here, and I am the newest edition of “weird” for Weird Girls. I am fifteen years old and I am so excited to get to know you and let you know what makes me weird…aka..unique!

A few months ago, I was fortunate enough to be in on the first table read for “Weird Girls”, and let me just say, I can’t wait for you to see what is in store.

I come from a performing arts family so artsy-fartsy is in the blood.

I am an actor — or is it actress? Hollywood can’t decide what is PC.  Whatever the going label is these days, I love to act, whether it be musical theatre, film, t.v., or the web!

I am a dancer — I think I could dance before I could walk and from the age of two to probably six, I would make anyone within eyesight sit on the couch so they could watch me perform along side with the video of CATS, the musical–over, and over, and over, and–well, you get the idea. I was a one man show!

I am a singer — I am a second soprano (singing middle to high but not screeching high) and I would rather sing harmony any day over melody. I like the challenge. My brother and I fight over who gets to sing harmony in the car. To the point that we will both stop singing until the other gives in and goes to the melody. Which sounds silly, but for some bizarre reason, it seems to work.

I play the piano — I took lessons for a while but I have learned most of the songs I know now via YouTube lessons. I read music but I’m lazy when it comes to putting it together to learn a song for piano. One of those things where it gets better with practice, I guess? And that word ‘practice’ is the bane of my existence.

I love to read– maybe we can swap favorite book titles sometime for any of you avid readers out there.

Okay, enough words for now, let me share some of my favorite things through a few pictures. But before I go, let me just say again how excited I am to be on this journey with the absofreakinlutely fabulous Mark Gardner! We have a lot of awesome interviews and extra stuff coming up, plus I want to get to know you and share a little more of myself, so stay tuned!

Until then, stay true to you–stay weird!

Thanks for the suggestion! I will check it out. I’m new to the whole horror novel club but I LOVED The Diviners, so I’ll give it a shot! Thanks for watching–stay weird!
